Junior Reshapers – After School Club is back for the Autumn term!

Creative with purpose

Junior Reshapers combines art-crafting and sustainability, imaginative play to help children discover the hidden potential in everyday waste items. Children will learn how discarded packaging can be transformed and reshaped into beautiful, meaningful, and imaginative creations.

Children will create a woodland creature sculpture inspired by animals such as a fox, hare, badger, or mouse.

Beginning with an exploration of animal skulls, children will learn how different features influence shape and form. Through sketching and observation, they will develop their understanding of structure before constructing a simple armature.

Using papier-mâché dough made from recycled egg boxes, children will gradually build, shape, and refine their sculpture before painting and decorating their finished piece.

Plastic bottles have a short life before being thrown away. In this exciting project, children will discover how these everyday items can be transformed into magical miniature worlds.

Children will design and build a themed scene using reshaped plastic materials. Their creations could include:

• An underwater world with coral reefs and sea plants

• River bed

• A colourful flower garden

• A woodland mushroom patch

• A cactus and succulent garden

Using observation, creativity, and problem-solving skills, children will learn to see potential where others see waste.

Each finished display will feature a hidden illumination (LED candle), creating a whimsical glowing effect and a unique piece of artwork to take home.
