community care workshops

Artcycle came to visit my Girls' Brigade group last week and our girls and young women (and the leaders!) loved it. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed turning plastic bottles into jellyfish, flowers or earrings and came up with some really beautiful creations, as we thought about looking after the planet and its resources better. Thank you so much!

When life feels rubbish Artcycle flips the lid!

Whether you are home educating or looking for 'time out' support for a young person who is struggling with a school setting, Artcycle can provide a creative space dedicated purely to creativity. Our professional designer has over 30 years experience in industry and aims to help young people realise they were made for purpose with gifts to nurture.

We encourage creativity and through the use of discarded and reclaimed materials, help them develop confidence, practical and design skills and a sense of achievement, and a more sustainable approach to the world around them.

Our Enhanced DBS-checked leaders can work with young people on a one-to-one basis or in small group settings, creating a safe, supportive environment where they can learn, explore and grow.

Whether you are a seasoned crafter or a beginner, every session is
prepped and designed to inspire imagination. Tailored
for all ages and abilities, equipped with step-by-step worksheets.

Card & paper

Working with all things paper and card, including surface pattern design with marble printing, paper-making, bead-making and structural 3D creative activities such as papier mache all ideal for little fingers and adults too.

Mixed metals

Transform a used beverage drink can into a beautiful embossed piece of art. Creating patterns and textures that will be admired. Participants realise surprising results with this out-of-the-ordinary workshop.

Not waste, just potential

Soft plastic

Reimagine bold new ideas from scrap confectionery wrappers and crisp packets. Abstract art and soft plastics patch-worked into crazy and colourful creations.

Hard plastic

Plastic bottles have become the norm in the waste stream. We challenge this by reshaping them into fancy things, such as accessories, toys and decorations.

Discared tee shirts take on a new life. Many tee shirts cannot be resold in the charity shop and end up being sold for rag. The rag industry has so much rag that it's pretty much worthless. Instead of it being recycled Artcycle can encourage you to give this material a second life by cutting the fabric into strip and pulling it to make it into a strong twine. This material is perfect for making accessories and decorations using techniques such as macramé and even chunky knitting. The potential is endless.

Textiles

Botfish Puppet Sea Creature

Chewed Paper Woodland Animals

The first craft event opened in 2024 and adults and kids made stylish Christmas decor from old beer and coke cans!
